Hadn’t realised before purchasing that the black rose is not continuous but has gaps so that the ugly silver fixing plate is visible (it is possible to see this if you zoom in on photos). Furthermore, we just couldn’t manage to break/pull apart the chain links in order to shorten. By the time we gave up, the chain was still intact but we had scraped off all the black paint so no longer in a state to return so ended up in the bin. I have had many very nice lights from Dunelm in the past but not this time.
